There are so many fantastic day trips from Soller in Mallorca’s majestic Tramuntana mountains. Whether you want to go to the city or explore more mountain villages, or even take a day at the beach, there are so many options available.
After traveling extensively across Mallorca over the years, and also spending time in Soller, I’ve found quite a few epic day trips I want to share with you in this post.
The best thing is that you can get to most of these places easily with public transport too.

Day trips from Soller
Valldemossa
Valldemossa is easily my favorite day trip from Soller, and without a doubt, one of the most beautiful towns in Mallorca.
The old town with its rustic houses, narrow streets decorated with pot plants, cute bakeries, and boutique shops is absolutely lovely to walk around, which is one of the main reasons to visit Valldemossa alone.
But there are many other great things to do in Valldemossa on a day trip from Soller. Visit the monastery, Real Cartuja de Valldemossa, the Palacio del Rey Sancho, where you can climb the tower for sweeping views, and the Chopin Cell, where the famous composer lived in the winter of 1838-1839.
Valldemossa is easy to reach by bus from Soller, but there are also plenty of parking spaces centrally.

Port de Soller
One of the most popular day trips from Soller is to take the historic tram to Port de Soller. In fact, this is one of the top reasons to visit Soller in the first place, and can be integrated into a Soller one-day itinerary.
The small port town is super nice to spend the day, especially in the summer, when you can swim in the refreshing water at Port de Soller Beach.
The marina is also lovely, with several restaurants and bars lined up, which are perfect for a refreshing drink.
But there are other things to do in Port de Soller, like walking up the hill to the Museu de la Mar to visit the museum, and of course, take in the best views of the bay.

Palma de Mallorca
Going on a day trip to Palma de Mallorca is also an amazing option. Mallorca’s capital is full of history and boasts a vibrant energy all year round, which makes it a perfect day trip even if you visit Mallorca in the winter.
There are many fantastic things to do in Palma, like visiting the cathedral (make sure you climb up to the rooftop for the views!), Castell de Bellver, the Arab Baths, and the Royal Palace of La Almudaina.
But even just walking around the old town, eating all the food, and drinking coffee at a bakery is a perfect way of spending the day there.

Fornalutx
If you’re looking for a shorter day trip from Soller, that is also a bit of a hidden gem in Spain, Fornalutx should be on your radar.
I’ve seriously never experienced a lot of tourists in this little village, no matter what time of the year I’ve been there. Even when Soller has been jam-packed, Fornalutx is quiet and relaxing.
The medieval town is surrounded by citrus trees, and the streets are full of photo opportunities.
There isn’t a whole lot to do in Fornalutx, but it’s the perfect place to spend a few relaxing hours and grab a bite to eat at one of the restaurants.

Deia
Deia is another small village close to Soller, but unlike Fornalutx, Deia is very popular. In fact, it’s so popular that last time I tried to visit during a Mallorca road trip, there was no parking and I had to go somewhere else.
Deia has a charming little old town with sweeping views that is lovely to walk around.
Like so many other towns in the picturesque Tramuntana mountains, Deia was home to several artists. Among the things to do, you can visit the former home of Robert Graves, who lived in Deia for several years.
Additionally, there’s an Archaeological Museum where you can learn more about the region’s history, which is pretty interesting.

Pollensa
Pollensa is located north on the island, which means that going on a day trip from Soller to Pollensa will involve a bit more time than the above suggestions. But there is a bus (line 231) to Alcudia that stops in Pollensa.
Alternatively, it’s a beautiful drive there, and it’s a lot faster to get there by car than by bus.
Pollensa is a larger town with a beautiful historic center filled with vibrant restaurants, bars, and boutique shops. Placa Major is a great place to people-watch in any of the bars. It’s also home to the Church of Our Lady, and there are often different happenings on the square.
Among the best things to do in Pollensa, make sure you climb the 365 steps Carrer del Calvari up to the little chapel overlooking the town.
I also recommend visiting Pollensa Museum, which is located in the beautiful Convento de Santo Domingo. The museum showcases a variety of art, archaeology, and historical artifacts to give you a deeper insight into the town’s history.

Summing up the best Soller day trips
Summing up, there are some incredible day trips you can take from Soller. The region is just jam-packed with beauty and charm, and with the local buses that go up and down Tramuntana, it’s even possible to do many of these without a car.
That said, I highly recommend renting a car in Mallorca so you get the most out of your visit and can explore the incredible viewpoints along the coast, too.
Happy travels!
